Absolute Nightmare

The worst company I have EVER dealt with. They are by far the most manipulative and incompetent bunch of people I have ever had to deal with. I moved from FL to CO two weeks ago to go to grad school and received hail damage to my car the first week that I moved. In the process of trying to get all of my info switched from FL to CO, I had not switched my insurance yet considering I am still a FL resident and cannot establish residency in CO for 90 days. I called to file a claim and my being in Colorado was not an issue at all... at first. I also had to basically track down the adjuster who never answered her phone. I was constantly listening to her voice mail and asking for supervisors who were conveniently always unavailable or out for the day. Finally, they dispatched a person to give me an estimate for the damage.

A week after filing my claim I finally got to submit the estimate and made an appointment to get my car fixed. Bright and early the next morning, I get a message from the claims adjuster stating my policy had expired and my costs were to be covered out of pocket. My online payment to them had gone through ONE DAY late and they screwed me and terminated my claim and my policy. I have never been late on a bill in my life and they jacked me over one day, they were completely unwilling to give me any sort of grace period.

They also raised my monthly rate a couple months prior to my claims incident and I called to find out why... Their answer was, "well, because we can". I decided to be honest with them then and ask about my possible relocation for school but at the time I had nothing finalized and didn't even have a Colorado address yet, it was simply something I mentioned. It was not the reason for my calling them in the first place. Over the termination of my claim and policy they also threw my honestly and relocation in my face. Saying they weren't going to continue my policy because I called to "confirm" to them that I was relocating which was completely untrue. They told me because I called about the relocation my account had been "flagged" months ago and they were planning to longer cover me anyways. The entire situation was a complete nightmare and they were totally unwilling to help me in any way, shape or form.

They are liars and cheats and will do anything to not cover your claim. I am convinced they made up half of their information just so that they wouldn't have to pay for the hail damage to my brand new car. It was a natural disaster, these things happen. Mercury has left me alone and out of pocket $2500 and quite frankly seemed to be glad to get me off their case. I will be contacting the department of insurance over this and I feel awful for anyone who is insured by them. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL REGRET EVER HAVING GIVEN THEM YOUR MONEY!!!
