Mega Rate Hike

Well, after being a Mega health customer for just one year, I just received a "Mega" rate increase notification amounting to more than 50%. The letter starts out with the usual expression of appreciation for my patronage. This is of course followed by the standard mantra all insurance companies use to raise your rates: "AS HEALTHCARE COSTS CONTINUE TO INCREASE..." What a joke. Exactly why are health care costs increasing at such a pace? They will tell you about new diagnostic procedures and new drugs but that's all nonsense. Many of these new procedures are often rejected by the insurance companies as EXPERIMENTAL. The real answer is simply greed. Why do you think any mention of a national health care program is always snuffed out at the concept level? Our congress is doing a fine job lobbying for the status quo.
