KAISER ASKS ITS DOCTORS TO ONLY PUSH CHEAP MEDICINES

My mother has been sick for months now and the past three doctors she's been to (under the Kaiser network) has given her this medicine that has no affect on her at all. They tell her there's another medicine that is much more effective, ok, why not give her that, no brainier right? The doctors tell her they can't because Kaiser ask its doctors to ONLY push the cheap medicines, so they won't have to pay for the more expensive ones.

It blows my mind that we pay hundreds of dollars for healthcare coverage every month, yet we have to settle for POS meds that doesn't work in the first place? All because Kaiser refuse to pony up the cash to pay for the medicines that does work. Shame on Kaiser and shame on those doctors for actually following this ridiculous rule, you are in the business of saving people, so why don't you give your patients the best medicine for their needs? If the cost for the patient is too expensive, then let it be their call, not yours. You have no right to play with people's health.

I am in the process of switching her to Atena because her old doctor, who is a wonderful physician that Kaiser kicked out of their network because he "takes care of his patients too much" by giving his patients medicine and treatments that works, instead of just pushing cheap meds like Kaiser asked him too.
