Theyy dropped me for making a claim

I borrowed my vehicle to a friend(pickup), so she could pick up a bulky item. She was rear ended while stopped at a red light by an uninsured motorist. While they did pay for the necessary repairs, they dropped me for filing the claim when it came time to renew. This is illegal in Illinois, so I reported them to the state insurance bureau. They then sent a renewal notice, apologizing, but the rates were DOUBLE what they were before. Needless to say, I went with another insurer. Now they are running an national ad campaign stating they offer a no drop benefit. Give me break. It's illegal to do so in most states, and they may not drop you, but jack up your rates so you leave because of the cost. Beware. YOU CANNOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
