We called and made a claim about a month ago, the Adjuster came out to see the water damage in our home.
From the word go, the adjuster who was assigned to our claim,when she first called me back,the sound of her voice to setup the appointment she just sounded like she didn't believe the incident took place. She came out to verify water damage to the house, from her comments she told us she didn't think the damage took place as we described to her, even though the we told her the plumber could come out and verify it too. She told us she will hire an Engineer to come and make an educated(professional report). We had the Plumber and her Engineer look at the damage 2 weeks after original claim date and they both proved the damage was from the water damage upstairs. In the meantime, which was now almost 4 weeks of waiting, she didn't call me to give any updates. I had to keep calling her and her Engineer to check on the status of the report. I finally spoke to her today 10/25, again I am the one calling her for an update almost a month later from the original claim date. She told me she finished with her report and her supervisor has to look at it, but she flat out told me that based on the Engineer and her own belief (she is not a builder, engineer or expect in water leaks) she doesn't think the damage happened as reported but she thinks, the house has been leaking for a long long time. I told her, that I had 4 witnesses, professionals who came to the house since February 2010 who will testify that the house did not have any damage to the best of their knowledge. She told me to send her those reports to give to her supervisor while we are waiting for his recommendation. I am very frustrated, I have never had any company and another adult not trusting me the way this Adjuster Erika , has treated our claim. I feel so humiliated, I have told her that, I had no reason to call her and her company to make a false claim like that.
What hurts us the most is that we have 2 home insurance policies with this company, 3 automobile policies with them. You would think, with all that business this company can work with you with some level of dignity and respect. We are very disappointed with this company and this Adjuster, her professionalism. Working with them feels like working with the enemy, she is ready to fire, over a water leak damage. This is sad for a company that has been in the insurance business this long. Isn't the point of having insurance to insure the unknown, who would go out there to create a water damage that will cover 3 floors and let it continue happening for a long longtime?
