Cigna Denies Anything Serious

If you can avoid Cigna, do it. Coverage was okay until I had a problem. I was bitten by a tick in my backyard. It took doctors forever to diagnose me with Lyme disease. I was put on IV antibiotics and was improving from what is largely considered to be a very debilitating and potentially fatal illness. Cigna cut me off of my IV, despite my doctor's insistence. Bacteria are feeding on my brain tissue, causing me to forget how to do basic things, like how to use the break pedal on my car. Yet, Cigna insists that antibiotics for a bacterial infection are "experimental." I may never be able to work or have kids. I'm 31 years old, otherwise healthy. I could die from this infection, while Cigna comes up with different, BS reasons for denying coverage. On my own, the IV will cost me $8,000 to $10,000 a month. There goes my life.
