I lost a 24 year career in Apr. 2006 due to a permanently diagnosed peripheral neuropathy (lost 85% of the nerve endings in both feet) Cigna was supposed to pay me 60% of my base income until I turned 65. The crooks stopped paying me after only 18 months and they owe me almost 800k. I withdrew all of my 401k to pay off my house when all of this first took place then I had to withdraw all of my retirement to have something to live on. I am down to the last 12k of my retirement and behind on my property taxes and most likely will lose my paid off house because of these scumbag, thieves. If there is a hell, the execs at Cigna will have a front row seat for screwing over the disabled.

Cigna is nothing but a scam. If I can prevent what happen to me, not happen to someone else, its worth it to write this review. Cigna is a scam because my employer was switching over to Cigna over the summer when I was referred to a Cardiologist to figure out what is wrong with my heart. I must add that I am only 22 years only, a full-time student and I also work full time. I am working very hard, getting only 4 hours of sleep a night. Trying to figure out what is wrong with my heart and many passing out spells over the years. Think I have good insurance why not now get some test done and figure out what is wrong with me. I went into the doctor, got many test done. About four months later I received a Huge bill from Cigna saying everything and test I had done is Denied. After calling to find out Why? How could they being denying me for something I needed to get done and my regular doctor referred me to get done now. There explanation was that when I got my card, I did not call them and tell them my doctor. This is such a scam to me. To put you should call to select a primary care doctor on the back of the card and then go months without telling me anything just seems like such a scam and a way to get out of cover charges that is their responsibility. They refused to work out anything with me and not I am a staving college student with a $3,000.00 medical bill because Cigna wants to scam people out of benefits that are rightfuly theirs. Avoid this company and thier beat around the bush scams.

Cigna has denied my claim five times and every time they give me a different reason!! They keep giving me different reasons because they don't have a GOOD reason! Cigna denies your claim hoping that you'll give up. It is unethical!!! Obviously I'm not the only one. I don't know why they are not brought to justice. Avoid Cigna!!!!

My daughter needs an MRI on her shoulder, but Cigna refuses. I see her crying in pain . The pain pills don't help any more. I can't understand how an Insurance Co. is allowed to make people suffer.

Cigna suddenly canceled my sister's disability benefits despite her being permanently disabled for quite some time. They didn't give any other reason than that she was "no longer disabled". What? So she paid out of her own pocket to get a bunch of tests by several specialists all of which confirmed her disability and then she filed an appeal, which was denied with no reason given. Now she has to hire a lawyer. She's got no money because she obviously can't work and depends on the disability.

Cigna is a horrible, unethical company that happily collects your premiums and then don't fulfill their contractual responsibility to pay claims.

DO NOT choose cigna for any sort of insurance. There are many better options out there.

I've had to have cigna for the past 5 or 6 years I did get a break for a year I actually paid more for health coverage just so I didn't have to deal with CIGNA unfortunately I was laid-off and had to go back to cigna the only option my husband has. I have never seen a company with so many deductible rules and co-pay rules and hospital rules and out of pocket this and that's I even chose one of the better options. I hate the company the money I've spent with them I should have just paid out of pocket I would have saved enough for a vacation. Problem is when I think about CIGNA I get sick

Maybe it is a common practice for insurance companies to tell a patient (me) that they can not a prescribed medication but that is exactly what cigna did. I was prescribed 1 medication and their associate told me I could not the medicine because it is not safe. Hmmm? The one they authorized is cheaper and MUCH WORSE for my health than the on prescribed. If my employer does not change my medical provider I am changing employers. You suck cigna.
