Terrible experience

I recently had to switch insurance companies due to change in my employment (from Aetna PPO to Blue Cross PPO). I have to tell you that Blue cross is very disappointing. The out of pockets expenses (co-payments, deductibles, etc.) is way more than my old insurance company. I am very surprised to learn that preventive procedures such as “pap smears” are not covered by a general physical and are subjected to the deductible.

My worst experience of dealing with Blue Cross is getting information through their online or telephone customer service. Their provider directory is useless; it has not updated for over decades; I had to waste days after days calling doctors that do not exist or not belonging to their network. Furthermore when I called to get information through live agents I came across very rude and unhelpful people who end up putting me on hold and never getting back to me (I was on hold for over 10 minutes before I just hung up).
