allstate is the worst and cheapest insurance company ive ever had to deal with. I was with allstate for 5 years before having to submit a claim. luckily im familiar with vehicle repairs as my father is a body tech for the past 30 years. he even told me not to get allstate but their rates were the lowest. I should have known, you get what you pay for. when my car was wrecked they informed me that they want to bring it to one of their "preferred" shops. but I wanted my vehicle fixed at the dealer, I know the allstate shops have to cut corners in order to make a profit on repairs because allstate doesnt pay for proper repairs. They put all aftermarket parts on my vehicle which when reassembled none of the gaps lined up and the lines were inconsistent. I demanded the dealer re do the work with all OEM parts as they were the parts on my vehicle before it was wrecked. allstate tried to blame the repair facility for the substandard work but I know this facility does outstanding work from prior experience. once the repairs were completed again with all the correct parts that should have been used in the first place the vehicle was finally in pre-accident condition. which is what a repair is supposed to be. the shop apologized about all the back and forth and explained throughout the repair how much allstate was interfering with the work being performed. allstate actually wanted them to order a headlight from nebraska just to save them $20 which would have held up the car another week. I commended the shop for the great work that they performed even though they had to do it twice because allstate didnt allow the correct parts in the first place. I have recommended several people to the shop and they have been happy with the results I have also recommended everyone i know to drop allstate insurance. I switched to state farm and have been happy ever since i learned they dont allow aftermarket parts on their repairs. state farm would actually prefer to pay more and have the repair done correctly then have the repair done half ass and save a little money. too bad allstate doesnt feel the same.
