insurance rates in nevada

I want to know why allstate is allowed to use a credit report in nevada but not California. I moved to Nevada recently to live with my daughter because I became disabled 2yrs ago, unable to work, lost my home,job and credit rating. I have been a long time customer with allstate, with a great driving record and no claims. I think this insurance rating in Nevada is unfair and certainly bad in our failing economy. The rates I was quoted in Nevada were doubled because of this practice. The agent I spoke with here said the underwriters felt a better credit rating means you will be a better driver. Thats ridiculous! considering what is happen in our economy now. If you plan to use a credit report then you should at least look at 5 years back
