You are NOT in good hands!!

I was a 6 month customer with Allstate and I can assure you, it was 6 months too many! First, I continued to receive calls night and day from Allstate wanting to quote me insurance for about a month after I already purchased insurance through them, which was slightly annoying, but no big deal. Also, I began receiving solicitation calls to my cell, which is listed on the do not call list....I have heard this complaint from many Allstate customers so I am sure it is not a coincidence.

I found the same coverage with State Farm for $640/yr less so I called Allstate to advise I did not wish to renew my policy when it expired in 2 weeks. I confirmed with the rep at least 3 times that I wanted to keep coverage through the expiration date of my current policy (which was paid in full). She asked if I would have coverage effective at the end of my policy and again confirmed the date of expiration. After I advised her I would have coverage with another company, she cancelled my policy immediately! I drove around for 2 weeks not knowing I was an uninsured motorist! Imagine my surprise when I opened what I expected to be a confirmation of cancellation letter and found a check! Also, I am being fined by the DMV for the lapse in coverage. I called Allstate to have them fix their mistake and was given a laundry list of things I needed to do for THEM to fix it (after being hung up on twice after asking for a supervisor). The refund check is more than the fine so I guess the joke will be on them in the end, but overall, TERRIBLE company with horrible customer service. Glad I never had to file a claim!
