Aetna doesn't care what your doctor saysI had a total hysterectomy that required some additional repairs due to scar tissue from previous surgeries. My doctor said I would need 6 weeks off work. Aetna gave me 4 weeks and said they would extend it based on my post-op visit and my doctor's report. The doctor prepared another report and again stated I needed the full 6 weeks. Aetna took 12 days to deny the claim. I wasn't working, so I lost income. I didn't have any more paid time off due to Aetna denying my days off prior to surgery when I was on narcotics and unable to drive (per my doctor's orders). Even though it is ILLEGAL to drive with narcotics in your system, and my job requires me to drive an average of 200 miles per day, they still denied the claim. They don't return phone calls, they don't explain in terms you can understand exactly what they need. They simply don't care what your doctor says!
