Get out while you still can!

AAA sent us a bill which we made revisions on in late August and they told us they would send us an updated bill with the new cost. As we waited for the bill we became distracted by other things in life and we eventually we forgot about it. The bill never came and, out of sight out of mind, we forgot about it. My daughter was involved in an accident in the following January. This is when we were made aware that we had never paid our bill and after a two and a half week review process AAA decided they were not going to honor the claim. All along, my daughter's truck had been sitting in the lot of a towing company. I called the morning after we found out it was not going to be covered to see when we could come pick up the truck. It was un-drivable and needed to be loaded onto a flatbed trailer. Also, note that the truck was two and half hours away from our home and one hour away from my daughter at college. But anyways, turns out the truck was no longer in the towing lot. The truck was "missing" for two days before the towing company realized AAA had came and picked it up twelve days prior. After that it took AAA two more days to realize that they had already sold the truck that they had refused to cover in an auction. After being a member (with a perfect payment record prior to this incident) for forty-seven years, AAA tried to screw us over and ended up wasting a month of our time. Good thing karma really does exist and they ended up paying us for the truck.
